With features already on NOISEY and hyper-tastemaker COLORS Berlin, Louis Rustum is being touted as the future of Danish R&B. Following his critically-acclaimed debut EP ‘Tomorrowtonite’ in 2014, Louis has working on new material in the studio, but creating enough heat to earn himself a feature on the influential German platform that has placed him alongside the likes of Goldlink, Daniel OG and Kojey Radical in terms of artists set to blow in 2017.
This new EP however truly underlines Louis’ growing influences outside of R&B and hip hop into more 80s-led pop. Citing the growing influence of 80 and 90s artists such as Whitney Houston, Sade, George Michael and Fleetwood Mac challenging his writing and melodies, Louis’ second EP is similarly filled with an excitingly expansive spectrum of sounds.Louis is coming through with a serious statement of his growing musical maturity with ‘Classified’. Confidently branching out of an early style, the emerging Danish artist is embracing his new aural muses, and is sounding all the more exciting for it. With the release of a new video in April, ‘Classified’ is a firm marker of Louis’ growing ambition as more than just a tastemaker R&B talent.
